About this work
French court lady seen from the front, standing on a terrace before a river with a bridge. She is dressed according to the fashion at the court of Louis XIII, in an overcoat with open puff sleeves trimmed with wide protruding cuffs. The skirt is drawn up so that the underskirt is partially visible; she has a décolleté with a lying collar and a slanting protruding collar on the back with lace. She wears a short hairstyle and a necklace around her neck and has her hands in a muff.
