About this work
French lady dressed according to the fashion of ca. 1630 with a short hairstyle in a two-part mourning costume, seen from the back. The costume consists of a short bodice with a long skirt and flat shoulder flaps, wide cylindrical sleeves with cuffs and a skirt. A flat lying collar around the neck. In her left hand she holds a fur muff, with her right hand she lifts the skirt from behind. With an inscription indicating her mourning.
