About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand at his left thigh, barrel angled upwards. With his right hand, he opens a powder horn. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
