About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand, barrel pointing upwards, before transferring the weapon to his right hand. In his left hand, besides the musket, he holds a burning match. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
