About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with both hands in front of him, barrel pointing upwards, to transfer it to his left side. In his left hand, besides the barrel of the musket, he holds a burning match. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
