About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand at his left thigh. With his right hand, he pours powder from a powder horn into the barrel, which is angled upwards. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
