About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand, barrel pointing upwards, before placing the weapon on his left shoulder. In his outstretched left hand, he holds a burning match. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
