About this work

Orangists from Rotterdam, including Kaat Mossel next to a mussel cart, attempt to launch the Prince's kite. On the left sits the personification of Liberty with a liberty pole above the coats of arms of Zeeland, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Delft, and Leiden, holding the kite by the tail. To the right of Liberty stands the Dutch lion. The personification of Justice sits on a cloud.
