About this work
The fire in the Old Town Hall of Amsterdam and some adjacent buildings on July 7, 1652. To illustrate the old and new methods of fire fighting. On the left an attempt is made to extinguish the fire with buckets and ladders, on the right the fire is fought with fire engines. With a four-line caption in Dutch and French.
