Fire in a house on the Oude Schans in Amsterdam on 5 December 1658. The facade of the house collapses, killing firefighters and bystanders. Bystanders flee in panic in front of the house. To illustrate the old method of firefighting and the dangers associated with it. With a four-line caption in Dutch and French. Plate 4 in the Firefighting Book by Jan van der Heyden.
