About this work
Fire in a sugar refinery on the Lauriergracht in Amsterdam on 29 December 1669. The fire is fought with old fire engines and water from the canal. Despite this, the building burns down completely. On the right, household goods are removed from an adjacent building. With five-line inscription in Dutch and French. Plate 5 in Jan van der Heyden's Fire Engine Book.
