About this work
Destruction of the village of Vronen near Alkmaar, according to Muller in 1303, actually in 1297. In the center of the representation a cross for a battle and the destruction of the city, below it a bell and the seal of Vronen. Above the cross Fame with two trumpets. At the bottom a cartouche with inscriptions in Latin with the year 1280 and a six-line verse in Dutch.
