Allegory with Stadtholder Frederick Henry and the victory over the Spaniards at the Slaak, 12–13 September 1631. The States fleet was commanded by Vice-Admiral Marinus Hollare. Sheet composed of six plates. Center top plate: Frederick Henry standing opposite the personification of the United Netherlands (a woman offering him a laurel wreath). In the background, Religion: people listening to a sermon. On the ground, accumulated riches, weaponry, and the Dutch Lion. In the background, 's-Hertogenbosch (conquered in 1629). On either side, two plates with conquered cities and victories between 1629 and 1632. At the bottom on each side, a small plate as a pedestal. Center bottom plate: beginning of the expedition at Antwerp and the unfortunate end during the battle at the Slaak.
