About this work

Allegory on the victories of William III in 1673. The young prince with a baton standing next to the young Hendrik Casimir. In front of them, commanders who achieved victories in 1673: Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter, Cornelis Tromp, Adriaen Banckert, Johan Maurits, Paulus Wirtz, George Frederik van Waldeck, Rabenhaupt and Count Willem van Hornes. Surrounding them, medallions and cartouches with victories. At the top left, the portrait of Montecuccoli and at the top right, Monterrey. At the bottom, an almanac for the year 1674 printed in black and red is pasted on. On either side of the almanac, chained prisoners. In the plate below the almanac, a two-column verse in Dutch addressed to the prince.
