About this work
Allegory on the offering of the Duchy of Guelders and the County of Zutphen to William III in January 1675 which he refused on February 21. Provincial maidens of Guelders and Zutphen standing by William III. Behind them the war chariot and army of stadtholder William III with Victory in the chariot. On the left the burghers, Poverty and Religion sitting on the ruins of the Roman Catholic church. Below three scenes with the offering and refusal of the titles. With the print a separate text sheet with an explanation of the depiction in three columns in Dutch.
