About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, seen from the back, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand near his left thigh and with his right hand taking the ramrod from the holder under the barrel. In his left hand, besides the musket, he also holds a lit match; on his left wrist, a fork (musket fork). Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free copy after plate 25 in the instructions for handling the musket in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
