About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand near his left thigh and bringing his right hand to the end of his ramrod, which he rests against his right side. In his left hand, besides the musket, he also holds a match; on his left wrist, a fork (musket fork). Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free copy after plate 26 in the instructions for handling the musket in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
