Funerary monument of commander Johan van Galen in the New Church. Johan van Galen, who died on 23 March 1653 from wounds sustained in the naval battle at Livorno during the First Anglo-Dutch War on 14 March 1653. On 11 December 1653 he was buried in the New Church in Amsterdam. Below the image a representation of the battle at Livorno with a four-line verse. Printed on the reverse with text in Dutch.
