About this work

Map of the estuary of the Thames showing the Raid on Chatham by the States' fleet under Admiral Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter, 20-23 June 1667. Printed below the plate in four columns, a letter from Admiral Willem van Ghent written on board the Agatha and addressed to the Admiralty of Amsterdam with a description of the course of the battle. Next to it, a poem on the victory in three columns.
