About this work
Extinguishing the severe fire between the Elandsgracht and the Elandsstraat in Amsterdam, caused by lightning on the night of 27 July 1679. Fire engines are being used to fight the fire from various houses. To illustrate skilled fire fighting with hose fire engines. Later state (with the letter) is Plate 8 in the Fire Engine Book by Jan van der Heyden.
