About this work

Capture of Maastricht by the French armies on 30 June 1673. The print is part of a French series of 28 prints with the conquests of the French King Louis XIV between 1672 and 1678 titled: Grandes Conquêtes du Roi. In an ornamental frame with at the top a map of the fortifications of the city, further weapons, French cock flags and festoons. At the bottom a cartouche with inscription of 11 lines in French.
