About this work
Allegory on the Peace of Westminster with England on February 19, 1674, which ended the Third Anglo-Dutch War. The peace treaty is offered by a messenger to King Charles II sitting on his throne next to Queen Catherine. On either side of the throne, courtiers; on the right, among the public, personifications of the virtues. Below, a cartouche with the triumphant entry of William III into the conquered city of Grave on October 8, 1674. Below that, the almanac for the year 1675, with portrait and coat of arms of William III.
