About this work
Hague fair in 1686 held on the Buitenhof, with the parading militia from the Noyelleshuis (later Vijverhof) on the left, between the stalls across the market to the gate where salutes are fired for the princely couple watching from the window in the Stadholder's Quarters. On the right, the prince's guard on horseback is stationed in front of the Kaatsbaan and the Komedie. In the sky, two angels with the princely arms of William III. At the bottom, the dedication in four lines in French and legends 1-14 in Dutch and French.
