About this work

King James II on his deathbed, December 16, 1701. Physicians and courtiers stand around the king's bed; on the left a Turkish physician and Louis XIV with a clyster syringe to purge the king. To the right of the bed a group of courtiers, including confessor Father Bouru, discuss the situation. In the doorway on the right a French messenger from the West Indies, with a turban, wooden leg, and crutch. Print and a text sheet with the title and legend 1-12.
