About this work
Night scene of extinguishing a fire with fire hoses in the Hof van Oranje in Brussels, November 24, 1701. The court was the residence of Isidro de la Cueva-Benavides, Marquis of Bedmar, commander of the Spanish troops in the Southern Netherlands. At the bottom three small pictures of other possible applications of the fire hoses with accompanying verses in Dutch.
