About this work
Allegory with the Italian Soothsayer showing recipes to cure the French disease. On the left a Jesuit and priest look on in shock. On both sides eight medallions in which the struggle between France and the allies is represented by animals. On the sheet below the print 3 columns of text in Dutch. Part of a group of separate satirical prints on Louis XIV during the War of the Spanish Succession, ca. 1701-1713.
