About this work

The siege and bombardment of the city of Bergen op Zoom by the French army under Löwenthal. In the foreground, victims among the French besiegers. The city was besieged from 12 July and, at the time of making this print, had ultimately been captured. Below the plate on the sheet is the legend 1-37.
