View of the Amsterdam Schouwburg on the Leidseplein, inaugurated on 15 September 1774. In the background to the left, the Leidsepoort. This city theatre was built to replace the theatre on the Keizersgracht, which had burned down in 1772, and it itself burned down in 1890.
