About this work

Allegorical monument for Joachim Maurits baron van Kropff, fallen in the defense of Klundert against the French army, 25 February 1793. Above the column a medallion with a portrait. On either side of the column four depictions of the last defense of the fortress, the mistreatment of Kropff's body by the French, the retrieval of his body from the water and his burial in Willemstad.
