About this work
Allegory of the Alliance concluded between the Batavian Republic and France, 1795. Central Liberty seated on a throne, behind her Commerce, Equality on the left and Religion (a preacher) on the right. On the steps to the left two children as Commerce and Engineering, on the right two children as Brotherhood. In the clouds the Alliance with the French and Dutch coats of arms. In the seven-line caption the explanation of the depiction.
