Joy at the Peace of Amiens, 1802

Joy over the peace concluded at Amiens on 27 March 1802, between the Batavian Republic and France and Great Britain. On a pedestal stand the British and Dutch Virgins with their flags, between them a cornucopia with grapes and grain. Around the monument the exuberant people dance, on the left a man with a telescope looks over the sea, on the right weapons are buried and used to cut bread.
