About this work
Allegory on the Second Peace of Paris, November 20, 1815. An allegorical female figure with a city crown (the Earth) and two children (the next generation) looks up to the approaching Peace and Abundance from heaven. Behind them an altar with an old man (Mankind) and the standing Religion. On the right, a genius burns military equipment with a burning torch. Sheet printed from two separate plates, one with the image and one with the caption. In the caption, two four-line verses in Dutch. The print is accompanied by a separate explanation.
