About this work
Allegory on the 100th anniversary of Dutch Freedom, 1648-1748. The personification of Dutch Freedom with spear, cap, and banner with Prince William IV receives the Century descending from the clouds. On the throne canopy, busts of William I, Maurice, and Frederick Henry; at the feet of Freedom, the enemies defeated during the Revolt: the king, Catholics, and the Duke of Alba. The print is glued behind a sheet with the title on the cover and inside a verse explaining the image.
