About this work

Hosea sits by the road looking at the landscape behind him. Next to him is his eldest son fishing for fish in a stream. On the left foreground, the adulterous wife with the two other children of Hosea. On the right, some believers worshipping a small holy image in a tree. Below the image, the title in Latin, a reference to the biblical text in Hosea 12, and three four-line verses: one in Latin, one in Dutch, and one in German.
