About this work
Vishnu in the form of the man-lion (Narasimha) emerges from a pillar of the palace upwards and outwards to defeat the demon Hiranyakashipu. To his right stands a young man, the prince Prahlada. The scene is framed by a narrow white border, surrounded by a broad orange-red decorative border with black frame lines; this sheet is mounted on a sheet of cardstock on which a black frame line has been drawn in pencil.
