About this work

On the right wing panel the baptism of Christ in the Jordan, with the banquet of Herod and the beheading of John the Baptist in the background. On the outside of the right wing: the kneeling founder Berbel or Barbara van der Noot with Saint Barbara. Part of a triptych with scenes from the life of John the Baptist. The altarpiece was made for a Benedictine monastery in Groot-Bijgaarden, near Brussels. With integrated frame.
