About this work

Jacquard woven ribbon with abstract design on black ground; design composed of a red oblong banner outlined in gold with interior design of black blades joined by a green circle at the center; red banner connected to gold and brown stylized four-sided leaf design with a blue diamond center; continuous border of gold teardrop shapes along edges. Fabricated in St. Etienne, France between 1850-1900. From the Merci Train or Graditude Train from France.
