Plate with an image of the Nativity

Porcelain plate, painted on the glaze in black and gold. On the flat surface a depiction of the Nativity of Christ with the child in a manger, while Mary, Joseph, and some shepherds look on; in the foreground a donkey and in the background two sheep; the rim with a decorative band in the style of Viennese Du Paquier porcelain. The depiction is based on a print by Jan Luyken (1649–1712). European representation in encre de Chine.
