Square bowl of porcelain with flat corners, painted in underglaze blue. On the wall on the outside four compartments with narrative scenes: a man and woman in an interior, two men in an interior at a table with a man in the doorway; a rider with a servant in a landscape, two women in an enclosed garden with a man climbing over the fence; lacework with a ruyi motif on the flat corners; on the bottom a woman on a rock in an enclosed garden; the inner rim with lacework alternating with cartouches with a flower branch (prunus, lotus). Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Xuande in a double circle. Blue and white.
