Triple-gourd vase with flower sprays and insects

Knobbed bottle-shaped vase (knobbelfles) of porcelain, with three-part body and spreading neck, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. The lower part of the body with three flowering branches (peony, chrysanthemum) and a band with ruyi motif; the middle part with lotus scrolls in reserve against a red ground; the upper knob with three fruit-shaped cartouches with an insect by a plant; on the neck two bamboo branches; around the foot a 'crackled ice' pattern in green. Vase has been broken. Old label on the underside with 'Nightingale coll: 32.'. Famille verte.
