About this work
Large, bell-shaped porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue. On the outer wall, four groups of four playing children in a landscape, separated by a tree. Above the foot, a band with ruyi motifs. On the base, a medallion with four playing children sitting around a table in an enclosed garden. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Jiajing in a double circle. On the underside, two old labels with 'Helsinki/ 1956/ Helsingfors/ 195' and 'Kunst/ Industri/ Museet/ 430/ Kobenhavn/ 1950'. A crack in the rim. Ming porcelain in blue and white.
