About this work
Man with a small walking stick (cane) in his hand. The accompanying text in the magazine (pp. 18, 19, and 20) classifies him, according to his hairstyle, as 'Titus' (in contrast to a 'Poudre'). He wears a jacket with a contrasting collar and two rows of buttons over a white waistcoat and casimir breeches. High hat and cravat. Boots with pointed toes, suitable for the morning. At the bottom, in a frame, two examples (samples) of cloth for waistcoats. Print from the magazine Le Mois: Journal historique, littéraire et critique avec figures, Year 7 and 8 (1799-1800).
