About this work

Man in rich costume. According to the accompanying text, the man, who is about to mount his horse, is dressed in a green 'habit' with lapels, lined in the same color 'vert Dragon'. The lapels, sleeves and coat pockets 'à la Marinière'' are provided with white mother-of-pearl buttons. Under the coat a green vest with gold stripes. Yellow breeches of deer leather. (breeches stockings?) Black English boots with silver spurs. English hat with black hatband on which a large steel buckle. Purple leather gloves. Two watches, one on a fob, the other on a ribbon. Riding whip in hand.
