About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, aiming a musket (a specific type of firearm) with both hands at a target, the barrel resting on a fork (musket fork), and firing (no. 12), ca. 1600. Plate 12 in the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderrechtinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, soo veel aengaet het recht ghebruyck vant Musquet. Part of the illustrations in: J. de Gheyn, Wapenhandelinghe van Roers Musquetten ende spiessen, 's-Gravenhage, 1607. Military affairs around 1600.
