About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with both hands in front of him, the barrel pointing upwards, to bring it to his left side (no. 20), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the barrel of the musket, also a burning match. Plate 20 in the instructions for handling the musket.
