About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand at his left thigh, the barrel pointing diagonally upwards (no. 23), ca. 1600. With his right hand he opens a powder horn. Plate 23 in the instructions for handling the musket.
