Relief of Gibraltar, 1705

Naval battle at Gibraltar on 21 March 1705 with a victory of the English fleet over the French fleet. This put an end to the siege of Gibraltar by the French and Spaniards. Depiction of a naval battle in a richly decorated ornamental frame with a cartouche at the top containing a map of Gibraltar. Decorated with armorial trophies, cartouches with emblems. At the bottom a cartouche with the description of the battle in German, on the left fleeing soldiers, on the right a French officer submits to the Dutch Lion.
