Strip of bobbin lace with an oblique flower under an oblique branch

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of a diagonally placed flower lying along the lower edge of the strip, under a diagonally placed branch with some hanging oval berries or flowers. Between the branches stand loose twigs with similar berries. The successive flowers along the lower edge are connected by a curved leaf, together they form the scallops. The motifs are placed close together and are connected by a fine lattice ground, a net ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with large cut-outs and thicker contour threads. Some decorative grounds have been applied. The upper edge is finished straight. The scalloped lower edge results from the pattern and is finished with picots. The short sides are cut diagonally and finished with a hem.
