About this work

Engageante of natural-colored Brussels bobbin lace. The pattern has a wavy decorative band symmetrically filled with alternately a wavy flower branch and a branch of berries on a coarser lattice ground than the surrounding fields. This wavy line forms compartments, each containing a flower branch. Along the flat shell edge runs a leaf ornament, which widens under each wave to two rocailles. The motifs are executed in linen stitch with fine cutouts and cutout relief contours. The motifs are connected by a fine lattice ground, a net ground. The top side is finished straight with a separately cut band. The very flat shell edge is finished with picots.
