Purse of wine-red velvet, embroidered with silver thread and blue silk, with the coat of arms of the Dauphin of France or the province Viennois later known as the Dauphiné. Model: flat round base with a wavy raised rim around it provided with holes through which originally a cord was drawn. Drawstring missing. Lined with goatskin. Decoration: the 20 protrusions or 'ribs' are decorated with alternating stacked ornaments in relief of silver thread provided with a shiny silver leaf. At three-quarter height runs a horizontal line of silver thread. Along the top the whole is edged with a border of silver thread, under which here and there the selvage of the velvet is visible. The base is circled with a double border within which a zigzag line of silver thread. In it the coat of arms of the Dauphin or the province Viennois, later Dauphiné. Around it an openwork border with shells; possibly a reference to the Order of Saint Michael, which however has a double row of shells.
